Why I'm Launching a Productized Service for AI-Powered App Development

I want to launch a productized service where I give unlimited access to my team of AI engineers, designers, and PMs for a fixed price of $8-10k per month.

The idea is simple: we build anything you want, and you have a whole team that uses AI to build and ship features quickly. No hourly billing. No scope creep negotiations. No surprise invoices. Just a flat monthly fee for unlimited access to a team that can execute.

The concept is inspired by DesignJoy and similar subscription-based agencies that have proven this model works brilliantly in the design space. DesignJoy's founder famously built a multi-million dollar business as essentially a one-person operation by productizing design services. I want to do the same thing for app development — but with the added leverage of AI.

Here is why I am so bullish on this idea. At Bolder Apps, we have spent years chasing new projects every month. The traditional agency model is exhausting: you finish one project, scramble to find the next, negotiate scope and pricing, onboard a new client, and repeat. It is a feast-or-famine cycle that makes it nearly impossible to build predictable revenue.

A productized service flips this entirely. Instead of project-based revenue, we create real MRR — monthly recurring revenue. Clients stay on because they always have more features to build, more ideas to ship. We do not have to chase new projects every month because our existing clients keep us busy.

The timing is perfect. With AI, our team can now ship features 5-10x faster than a traditional dev shop. What used to take a month can be done in a week. That means the value proposition for clients is insane: for $8-10k a month, they get what would have cost $50-100k in traditional development.

I am working on the brand right now — it is called Appsurd (appsurd.co). The name captures the absurdity of how fast and affordable app development has become in the AI era.

If you are a founder or business owner who needs continuous development work, this is the kind of service that could transform how you build. And if you are an agency owner, I would seriously consider this model. The future of services is not hourly billing — it is subscriptions.
