2026 is going to be the biggest year of transformation through AI. The things that we thought were going to happen when ChatGPT just came out three years ago are now going to happen because the implementation just caught up.
I just rebuilt an entire website with one prompt that was custom built. I ditched Webflow and I'm putting this on my own hosting that is much cheaper. I am diving deep into Claude co-work and it's able to do things for me on my computer. The only limitation right now is that none of these agents can save payment information and some websites still have a blocker from these agents that they cannot really browse and do things. Once those two things are solved, a lot of workers will be replaced.
Jack Dorsey just announced on X that he's laying off 4,000 people at his company Block, which is 40% of his workforce, because they're using agents to automate their work. It is no longer just 'oh this will happen type of thing' — this is happening right now.
The pace of change is accelerating. What used to take months of development can now be accomplished in hours. The question is no longer whether AI will transform industries, but how quickly you can adapt to leverage these tools in your own work and business.
